Best Shelter team Conducts Needle Recollection Sessions in Kachin State Villages
The Best Shelter team, consisting of two outreach workers, a nurse counselor, and two community members, embarked on a crucial public health initiative by organizing sessions to collect disposed needles and syringes in Shan Kyaw village, Chipwe township, and Saw Zen village, Pang War town, Kachin State, on February 2 and 4, 2024.
The team meticulously searched various locations within the villages, including beside main roads, village drainage systems, and known injection spots, and collected discarded needles and syringes.
This effort aimed to enhance resident safety by reducing the risk of needlestick injuries, preventing the transmission of bloodborne diseases, and promoting environmental health
