To commemorate International Women Day, March 8th, Best Shelter organized well attended “Embrace Equality” awareness activities. Seng Taung, Pan San (Wa Special region) and Laukkai are remote towns in northern and eastern part of Myanmar, where Best Shelter is providing community health services to marginalised women and girls. On this International Women’s Day health educational sessions were conducted on the importance of gender equality, related to health care services, job opportunities, choice of contraception methods, gender-based violence, cervical cancer and on the protection against sexual exploitation and abuse. Best Shelter teams, local communities, women who use drugs, sexworkers and other female clients, actively participated in lively interactive education sessions. There was a real sense that the health education and information sharing sessions were compassionate, contributing to a ‘learning together’ atmosphere and better understanding of women rights issues. The women greatly valued the provided cervical cancer educational pamphlets which were distributed, and the lunch and refreshment greatly appreciated. The group picture shows that this gathering was regarded as a rare, precious and happy moment.

အရိပ်စစ် (Best Shelter) အဖွဲ့မှ မတ်လ ၈ရက်နေ့တွင်ကျရောက်သော အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာအမျိုးသမီးများနေ့ကို ဂုဏ်ပြုသောအားဖြင့် အမျိုးသမီးများနှင့် မိန်းကလေးငယ်များအပေါ် ခွဲခြားဆက်ဆံမှု ကင်းဝေးစေရန်နှင့် အခြေခံကျန်းမာရေး စောင့်ရှောက်မှုများရရှိစေရန် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမြောက်ပိုင်းနှင့် အရှေ့ပိုင်းဒေသများဖြစ်ကြသော ဆိုင်းတောင်၊ ပန်ဆန်း (ဝအထူးဒေသ)၊ နှင့်လောက်ကိုင်ဒေသများရှိ အရိပ်စစ် (Best Shelter) အဖွဲ့၏ ပြည်သူ့ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ဆောင်မှုများ လုပ်ဆောင်လျက်ရှိသောနေရာများတွင် အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာအမျိုးသမီးများနေ့အခမ်းအနားကို ကျင်းပခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အဆိုပါအခမ်းအနားတွင် ကျား/မ တန်းတူညီမျှရှိရေး၊ ကျန်းမာရေးစောင့်ရှောက်မှုများ လက်လှမ်းမှီရယူခြင်း၊ အလုပ်အကိုင်အခွင့်အလမ်းများ၊ သားဆက်ခြားနည်းလမ်းများရွေးချယ်ခြင်း၊ ကျား/မအခြေပြု အကြမ်းဖက်ခြင်း၊ သားအိမ်ခေါင်းကင်ဆာနှင့် လိင်ပိုင်းဆိုင်ရာခေါင်းပုံဖြတ်အမြတ်ထုတ်ခြင်းနှင့် အနိုင်အထက်ပြုမှုတားဆီးကာကွယ်ရေးဆိုင်ရာ ပညာပေးအစီအစဉ် များကို အသိပညာပေး ဟောပြောပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အရိပ်စစ် (Best Shelter) အဖွဲ့၊ ဒေသခံများနှင့် အမျိုးသမီးမူးယစ်ဆေးသုံစွဲသူများ၊ လိင်အလုပ်သမများနှင့် အမျိုးသမီး Clients များတတ်ရောက်ခဲ့ပြီး ပညာပေးအခမ်းအနားတွင် အပြန်အလှန် ဆွေးနွေးခြင်း များ ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အမျိုးသမီးများနှင့်ဆိုင်သောအခွင့်အရေးများကို အတူတကွသင်ယူနိုင်သော ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်လေးတစ်ခုကို ပညာပေးအစီအစဉ်များနှင့် အပြန်အလှန်ဆွေးနွေးခြင်းများကတဆင့် ဖန်တီးနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ပညာပေးအစီအစဉ်ပြီးတဲ့နောက်မှာတော့ တတ်ရောက်လာသူများကို သားအိမ်ခေါင်းကင်ဆာ ပညာပေးလက်ကမ်းစာစောင်များကို ဝေငှပေးခဲ့ပြီး နေ့လည်စာအစားအသောက်များဖြင့် ဧည့်ခံကျွေးမွေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ တတ်ရောက်လာသူများနှင့် အမှတ်တရဓာတ်ပုံများရိုက်ကူးခဲ့ပြီး အခမ်းအနားကို အောင်မြင်စွာရုပ်သိမ်းခဲ့ပါတယ်။
