အခမ်းအနားတွင်ဖားကန့်မြို့နယ်ကျန်းမာရေးဦးစီးဌာနမှူးဒေါက်တာသိန်းမြင့်ဝေမှအဖွင့်မိန့်ခွန်းနှင့်တကွမူးယစ်ဆေးဝါးသုံးစွဲသူများအတွက်မက်သာဒုန်းဆေးအစားထိုးကုသမှုလုပ်ငန်းသည် အရေးကြီးကြောင်း ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ပြီး ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနနှင့် AHRN ၏ ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်မှူကို ကြိုဆိုကြောင်း ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။ထို့နောက်AHRNစီမံချက်မန်နေဂျာဒေါက်တာနေမင်းထက်မှ မက်သာဒုန်းတိုက်ကျွေးခြင်း လုပ်ငန်းစဥ်များကို ရှင်းလင်းပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။

ထို့နောက်ဝှေခါတိုက်နယ်ဆေးရုံတွင် မက်သာဒုန်းဆေးခန်းကို ဖားကန့်မြို့နယ် ကျန်းမာရေးဦးစီးဌာနမှူး ဒေါက်တာသိန်းမြင့်ဝေ၊ ဝှေခါကျေးရွာအုပ်ချူပ်ရေးမှူး ဦးကျော်မင်း၊ တိုက်နယ်ဆရာဝန် ဒေါက်တာဇိမ်ညိမ်းဝင်းတို့မှဖဲကြိုးဖြတ်ဖွင့်လှစ်ပေးခဲ့ပါသည်။အခမ်းအနားကိုသက်ဆိုင်ရာအကြီးအကဲများ၊မူးယစ်ဆေးစွဲလူနာများ၊ရပ်ရွာခေါင်းဆောင်များ၊ရပ်မိရပ်ဖများစသဖြင့်လူဦးရေ၅၀ခန့်တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ကြသည်။

Advocacy Meeting and Opening Ceremony of Methadone Maintenance Therapy Clinic in Waikha Village, Hpakant Township
A joint coordinated efforts between Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) and AHRN

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS), the advocacy meeting and opening ceremony of Methadone Maintenance Therapy Clinic was held on 28th October 2019 at the Administration office of Waikha village, Hpakant Township.
Dr.Thein Myint Wai, Township Medical Officer-Hpakant, gave the opening speech and explained about the importance of Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) to confront drug dependence. He also appreciated the collaboration effort between the MoHS and AHRN.
Dr.Nay Min Htet, Project Manager of AHRN Seng Taung explained about the MMT activities in Waikha, and the importance of Harm Reduction and the care of for People Who Use Drugs in Hpakant Township.
The esteemed authorities, Dr.Thein Myint Wai (TMO), Dr.Zein Nyein Win (SMO) and U Kyaw Min (Waikha Administration office officially opened the MMT Clinic. More than 50 participants attended the ceremony, including Government officials (MoHS, Administration Department etc), community leaders, CBOs and People Who Use Drugs of Waikha Village, Hpakant Township.
This activity is funded under Access to Health Fund.
Enrolment of patients started straight after the meeting to great relieve of many waiting for this critical treatment option.
